if you wanted to set up something like that in eastern eroupe im thinking 1 million pounds would be enough. would possibly be more of an old house with grounds rather than a castle but im thinking you can get a fairly well equiped farm house with land and a few out buildings in the austrian country side for 100,000-150,000 from what i can see. if your willing to move out off the eurozone and a bit further east then it would be possible to ge it even cheaper id guess. spend the same again on renovations a bit on marketing and some new websites.

There was a complete island with buildings for sell in East Germany a couple years ago for 300K Euros. It looked absolutely fantastic for the purpose.
When I saw the original sale ad for OWK, I thought it was massively overpriced, but it was on a website selling Castles and Islands, so it was to be expected. LOL
Prices in CR are not as low as they used to be - I think ou have to go much further Eastern Europe for the really low prices.

well it depends how close to a major city you want it thats the key.
the OWK is half way between prague and bryno and about 3 hours from vienna with from what i can tell no major public transport links i can't think of anything to say here
so let pretend this says something really intelligent

Whereas the femdom market is potentially huge the vast majority of that is purely an online market, the big difficulty is getting those that lurk behind their computers out in to the real world, not an easy task!
The OWK hasn't been fully functioning for at least a couple of years, would that be the case if it was economically viable in the first instance? If it was economically viable surely the owner would have continued using it as was but with other's running the show and them taking a back seat and reaping in the profit.
Would be interesting if we could get hold of some figures to see how it was performing which one would expect if people are looking for shareholders rather than just relying on the fact its femdom to try and gather financial backing, I would prefer to see a business case to work out if it would indeed be economically viable before I would consider parting with any of my cash.

The proposal includes the websites so there is the opportunity to revitalise these and pitch for the seated ones.
I suspect that the website and its sales are well down.

Some good business logic there. The OWK is way too overpriced for sure. Stick to more western Europe, like Austria for instance, surely it would attract more people and also be a solid investment in itself. You could even set it up as a limited company, due to freedom of establishment in the EU, and your tax payments would depend on where you business "seat" is. But no-one is stopping you from dealing in cash regarding sessions once guests are in... Just make sure a new domme is not really a tax inspector...
All this is speculation, but nice to think about.

i don't see why they value it as highly as they do, the OWK brand is the main thing they are after and im not sure how well protected that trademark is.

as for making moeny out off it if you had 10 rooms and ran it like a regular B&B like what they used to do at the OWK before they jacked all the prices up you could make upto £200,000 a year at £200 a week from just renting the rooms out. then you ve got your filming, celebrations, slave training camps and anything else people care to dream up ontop off that.

You say it had not been doing too well for a while. Whist it may have been overpriced, wasn't one of the problems that it was too severe for most subs, slaves, prisoners? Not everyone wants beating black and blue. No respect of limits at all. I know of several people who were of that view including a former SAS man who said it was way too hard. Many people put off by the severity who would have welcomed the all consumin situations.
Push us to the limits - yes, but not to bruitality.
Anybody gat any experiences? Perhaps those who may take it over could take these issues on board. modelatex wrote:

"They state on their website, that men have complained that they've paid huge sums to be dominated by females & yet they've received no BDSM. This statement appears in conjunction w/ another that there is a no refund policy.
Further, in early 2010, OWK had filed for bankruptcy & was seeking a buyer."

Having been to OWK three times, I am sad that it may disappear, so if somebody is trying to keep it going, good on them. And it does appear to be two Dommes who know OWK very well. One aspect I liked is that you can really get into the mindset behind those closed doors in a way that is not possible in a studio or dungeon located in a town or city centre. If anyone were to put money in to try to revive it - and I am talking buying a modest few shares in a co-op way - I think you would need to view it as a hobby type expenditure, rather than a calculated investment with a guaranteed return. So don't sell your house to buy shares , but if you've got a few quid, or euros before that currency goes down the drain, than why not consider it if you are into Femdom. No doubt a lot could be done to revive the place by way of regular events etc with more realistic pricing. |
