The way I read it is that the advice is a bit disjointed. For instance if someone starts a new thread then they're not butting into the regular's conversation. Unless of course the web board belongs to a bunch of regulars and the newbee unwittingly fails to notice this.

If I misinterpret the advice then I'll back down and blame the fact it's now 00.47am
