Unless a domme is lucky enough to own a detached house or use a commercial property, many I've gathered live in terraced or semi detached houses, one I know of lives in the middle of a housing estate in Skelmersdale, and I often wonder if the neighbours know what goes on and if they have ever hassled a pro domme for her activities. I do recall a story that got onto Look North about a domme who was renting a flat in Gateshead and the neighbours, this being the North East where social attitudes aren't very liberal, wanted her driven out even though the council and the police had no objection to the flat being used as a dungeon.

You'd have to be incredibly indiscreet for your neighbours to find out. "If no sexual offence is being committed it seems very odd indeed that there should be an offence for having an image of something which was not an offence," Lord Wallace of Tankerness

I think the issue in Gateshead was someone must have known who the domme was and decided to out her. Actually moving slightly off topic, the North East- my birthplace- does seem to have a low proportion of dommes relative to your part of the world.

Do you know what goes on in your neighbours' houses? Do they know what you do in the privacy of your own home? The same goes for a PD. As Lady Anna says, you'd have to be very indiscreet and foolish to be noticed. Behold my updated website , worms!

...especially as it would seem that most instances of this nature are as a direct result of a deliberate "outing" to neighbours and the press by some deluded and scorned fuckwit.

There's a very large dungeon operating quite openly in a former mining village up in that neck of the woods...

Well sure that can happen and it's a crying shame when it does. From what I can gather though, if I recall recent instances correctly, the neighbours found out simply by observing the goings on in particular houses. The neighbours then brought it to the attention of the police who in turn informed the local press. There are far more PDs who haven't been 'found out' than have been found out. That's because most of us are discreet and considerate.

I quite agree, Lady Anna B, there are some spiteful jerks around. Most dommes are extremely careful but it just takes one idiot with a story to sell or a bigoted outlook to ruin everything

You've just 'outed' her to one of her nearish neighbours. Presumably she prefers to work discreetly as I've never come across her and am not aware of anyone advertising within twenty miles of my not-a-million-miles-away-from-Skem location. Edited 9 May 10, 5:30 PM by Peccavi

Oh very sorry, I didn't mean to cause any offence, my mistake. I do believe this was a few years ago. |
