She's back home! The operation was a bit more complicated than anticipated, she had to have necrotic tissue removed and there is still some infection. She has four sets of stitches, and is on new antibiotics and more painkillers. She's very groggy from the anaesthetic still and is stumbling about and looking peaky and behaving a bit weirdly. Am keeping a close eye on her and back to vets again on Friday. They've warned us she could still get more abscesses and further infection and that it's still going to take a lot more time for her to fully recover.
Thank you to everyone for holding us in their thoughts. Furry kids cause so much worry when they're unwell but so much joy when they are better and I'm looking forward to Maisie being back to her looper self hopefully very soon!
