Okay did it again lost bloody blog so, abridged version went to hospital, for checks re stomache sleeve cutting operation, ecg, chat with triccyclist, food diary for checking emotions, then final thing get doc to check my lungs with a stethescope, so there I am thinking nearly out and all is not bad, then he starts and carries on and on, does the back, dragon breathing then says you have a murmur, i say sorry him you have a murmur, I reply in disbelief, whats it saying then can you hear, smile, he does not, got to go for scan now to check it out,i hope it does not stop me from the operation, still managed to escape,got bloods and scan then next stage begins.

Heart murmurs are often completely non-symptomatic, and essentially safe. Lots of people have them. Basically, some of the blood pumping through the heart is backflowing due to a slightly leaky valve, and this causes a slight "swooshing" noise when the doctor is listening to the heart.

It's often discovered completely by accident when looking at other stuff-as in your case. I'm afraid I know more about it in horses, but there are Grand National runners who have heart murmurs, so they don't necessarily affect you all that much. Scans are a good idea, to find out how much of an issue there is.

Thank you epona74, that has allayed my fears no end, I had a feeling not to get to desperate, and a scan is on the horizon so tally ho,
