Currently been suffering with one and have had it come back for the last 5-6 years or so. It it really annoying as it is so painful when trying to undertake anal activities and after any such activities I feel a lot of pain for a few days. I tried several remedies but to no avail - I want to get over this but I just can't seem to get rid of it! Anybody else had this kind of problem? have you managed to get rid of it? Dont want to be a total bore, but put the anal play on hold and do as Polly says.... It will only increase problems and make long term play unsatisfying. Either that or stick a chilli in and hope it does a runner... Good luck !
The challenge is to be yourself, in a world that is trying to make you like everyone else......

I had one about 6 years ago. Ihad minor ones for years, but 6 years ago I had a really bad occurance; it was agony. Consultant asked me to bear with it for 6 weeks, as they do usually self heal. And it did - not had a recurrance since. But I now justr cannot countenance any play there, much to my disappointment. I was always verytight and now I automatically tense up if anything aproached that area. So like other advice, think you have just got to give it a miss

I had a fissure many moons ago and after months of pain, was referred for laser treatment to repair it. The treatment was completely painless and very quick... although a tad embarressing as they pump a lot of air into you first and then stick a gauze tampon like thing up your butt after the treatment. It gives you the sensation of... well, let's not go there! I'll leave it to your imagination!
But it was worth it and hasn't returned

I am currently recovering from surgery to repair one. The whole process from GP to operating table was about 10 weeks, during that time I had some 'investigative' x-rays (as eloquently described by shylainie) to ensure that there were no other underlying problems. The surgery was a day job under a general anesthetic and I was in hospital from 08:00 to 15:30. Two weeks on and I am pretty much back to normal and feeling a damn sight better than before it was done. See a GP and insist on a referral to a consultant.
