I was downloading pictures from my phone after the weekend when I came across this one

It was taken a couple of months ago in a Sainsbury's . The pidgeon (I've circled it) apparently had been trapped in the store for a week and was flying about everywhere the staff didn't know how to get it out. I'd just shooed it from sitting (yes I said sitting ) on the Easter eggs on the left

I managed, by standing in the doorway to keep the door open and teasing it out of where it had settled to get it out but the sign under it in the photo amused me

And they did not think to call the RSPCA?! The bird must have been scared and stressed. I find that so upsetting.

Yes I spoke to the security guard who told me it had been there a week and they couldn't get it out - apart from the RSPCA aspect it's a food store and I'm sure that the local authority would not have been pleased with the health risks.

It just took me a few minutes by keeping the door open and waving an umbrella to get it out <shrugs>
