Whatever may have happened in the past, has happened. However, Geoff and Lisa have allowed me to organise a fetish night on Friday 14th May. I know it may sound in competition to the Bristol Bizarre, but some people may know I was trying to get this event organised for quite a while and had messaged people to find out the level of interest. In fact, I was originally offered Sundays to do it. Anyway, please don't be afraid to add a comment. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks Dorac.

It might be an idea to say what sort of event it is, what's the general feel/thrust of it. In your earlier post you said that you wanted it to be like spank used to be. Many people won't know what that is, so spell it out for them. Whats the dress code, what's the dungeon going to be like (free for all, heavily monitored, whatever) Are there house Dom/mes? Whats the music going to be like? Do people need to join the club, how much is it? All the general sort of stuff that you see in a post about an event. Look at a few and you'll see what I mean. I'm not sure rehashing the Club-O issues thread is particularly useful, but I guess a few people may feel they are not welcome. You might want to make it clear if thats the case or not though. Cheers - and good luck. Doug

Hi Dorac, Club Bizarre will have it's own identity and I'm sure yours will too. I don't see it as competition – some will like one style, some will like another and some will like both. If anyone had said forty years ago that gay people would have the choice to move from one gay club to another on a weekend they would have been ridiculed. Hopefully in the future there will be the same choice for fetish people. Let's move this forward, I wish you all the best with your new venture. Steve

Thanks for the responses.
I plan to go to Bristol Bizarre, I just enjoy fetish events especially if local. I can answer a few questions about the Friday event. Membership is required, but it is free at the moment. The club O website has a membership page: http://www.clubobristol.co.uk/info_membership.php 48hrs period required between registration and admission. Music will be goth/ebm with some 80's stuff. Depends also on what people request. Dress code is likely to be smart black as minimum. Having discussion now about this. I think some form of dress code is necessary. I am seeking a DM. I realise this is role is important. I welcome a message from anyone who could take on this task. Admission fee is not yet confirmed, probably £10. The dungeon area will be open. Basically I hope to create an event that has a mix of people: fetish, BDSM, TV/TS. The music should be lively but not too loud to drown out conversation and other activities. Its impossible to please everyone. But some decision will have to be made on all the points soon, after thinking about how to create the right atmosphere. Dorac.

I have never been to Club O and believe it was a good place to visit till the whole argument happened on IC about membership etc.
Naturally an ugly side was seen of the owner (?)and he put me off going. So its nice to know there will be a different face to the fetish night. I was wondering will it be a clean slate for those who were previously told they are unwelcome? There was a large group of people who were offended and left disgruntled by it all. Would be nice to know doors will be open to all on the scene regardless of previous arguments. Wishing you all the luck with this!!

I should say that I am not the new face of Club O. I am just a regular visitor to Club O. After the club went mainstream, I proposed that I was happy to promote a once a month fetish/BDSM event. I just wanted somewhere to go. I like to believe that wounds heal with time, and I hope that things that were said in anger are not a true reflection of what people are really like. Dorac.

THAT ^^^^^^ is the way it should be done.
I think I should like to attend both of them now.

Couldn't agree more. I'll certainly do my best to be there on the 14th and will put the word around. I remember Spank fondly. It never had a venue quite as promising as Club O - the first one I went to was in the Beir Keller for goodness sake! But it was packed. If Spank had found a place like O it might still be going. Spank people and attitude - Club O facilities. That would be a good combo. Claude

What you are trying to do is admirable but why are you apologising for the extremely bad attitude of the club management / owners? You say let bygones be bygones, and that Geoff and Lisa have given you permission to promote a fetish/ BDSM event, why? They seem to think that by giving you permission that those who were grossly insulted and screwed would roll over and say “oh because its some one else organising it all is forgiven and forgotten?” I notice that neither Geoff nor Lisa have come on these boards and publicly apologised, but prefer to let you do it for them. There have been others (4 major players) just like you who invested time, reputation and energy to help get this club up and running, ask your self a question. What happened and why are they not there now? The answer is simple, there is one element that has been involved at all times! The management/owners! Sorry but leopards do not change their spots and neither will the management of club O! B&P
