Well it now been 90 days scince I had my last ciggie!
Was it easy to give up? I would say there have been moments but overall I feel that I was mentaly prepared to overcome the addiction, based on this statement I would say YES it was easy.
How did I do it? Total bloody mindedness and the knowledge that many others had achieved non smoking status, so what made me any different to them, after all I am the same as them, they can do it therefore so can I!
What did I use too beat those cravings? I didnt use any thing such as tablets, gums, accesories etc-! What I did use however was lolipops (as recomended on here by someone) at first it was around ten a day but that has reduced to one or two a week now just too bypass those odd moments that jump out at you when you least exspect it.
Will I stay a non smoker? I think this time I have cracked it, I feel that if I did smoke again now I will have wasted a lot of willpower on nothing.
How do I feel! My health has improved greatly, I have more energy, sleep better, breath better, smell cleaner ( I realy didnt realise how bad I smelt when I smoked ) In short I feel Bloody Fantasic!
Have I put weight on? YES but only a stone,(those of you who know me would say aboout time too! LOL) I eat a very healthy diet veg, salad, fruit, white meat, fish, spelt bread, I DO NOT EAT ANY PROCCESED FOOD! plus I eat small portions, it is my belief that most of us over eat, we are provided with the dinner plate and feel that it must overflow to satify our hunger, (eyes biger than stomachs) We eat of side plates thus educating our eating habits.
Food DID NOT replace smoking which is the downfall for many people in the weight area, Food did not be come a substitute for ciggies!
Plus one other major factor tremendous support from my other half morgan.
If this blurb helps just one person then I feel chuffed.
Good luck to all who take this route it is realy mind over matter.

Hi VG Well done and congrats on taking control of this difficult task. Glad to see you have an understanding partner its important that people support you when times get difficult. As for eating instead of smoking, eat healthily and cut out processed foods. Talking of food mine has just arrived so once again well done. Regards Phil

Still not smoking. I think I avoid this forum now as I confess I have turned into one of those annoying ex-smoker types!! An evil person is like a dirty window, they never let the light shine through. |
