Our national convenor Clair Lewis has been named as a finalist as Campaigner of the Year in the Erotic Awards 2010. Jane Fae (who wrote as John Ozimek)is also a finalist in writer of the year and CAANs booklet 'Beyond the Circle' was singled out as part of the nomination.

Cool for CAAN to be selected for a campaigning award. Shame it focusses on an individual, but great publicity for the network (whether we win or not) - hopefully raising more awareness and bringing in more interest and activists. It's unlikely I'll be attending this event given my family circumstances right now (see recent blogs) so another CAAN activist will probably be found to accept the award should we win it. We've been quiet this year with delays on the book and waiting to pick up again with EHRC (to ask for all consenting adults - ie people of all sexualities and orientations and relationship styles - to have equal rights.. this time with the requested pile of discrimination evidence) once the sexuality/ discrimination book has been released. If anyone has evidence to submit to the discrimination evidence collection, please see this message from CAAN: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/246277/ I'd say the well known and loved ethical slut Dossie Easton is likely to pick up this award. She deserves it too, she's a brilliant public figure and lovely as well.
