Today I opened my bank statement. I don't usually bother going through it but today I did. Firstly, I queried a payment to a wine shop for £90...that will be chased up tomorrow. I then carried on browsing through thinking how quick money disappears from my account when I noticed another card payment. Card payment to Amazon Prime for £49. Now I know I havnt spent that on Amazon and check my account which confirms this. I ring Amazon up and find this out......... In March I bought myself something for under a tenner. It had free postage. Apparantly the next day I was sent an email asking if I was happy with the free postage offer and if so I wasnt to reply to the email and they would give me a special offer following a one of card payment from me of £49. This would give me a year of 'free postage' on all purchases from Amazon. Now as I never received this email, I therefore did not reply to cancel this wonderful offer, hence I was charged! I have managed to get a £44 refund after they charged me the first months subscription. What a scam........had I not checked my statement I wouldnt have known. I clearly can not be the only one

Pleased you posted this. I often buy from Amazon including recently and then when I see an Amazon e-mail I delete it thinking it's just seeing if I'm interested in other DVDs, CDs etc and don't even bother opening them! Will do in future - in fact, just off to check those I deleted! |
