It's never even occurred to me to vote according to anything related to BDSM.

I love the smell of sexual napalm in the morning.

It's vital that every one votes.

I do agree that everyone should use their right to vote. No matter how limited our democracy is - and voting the government in once every 5 years with no right to recall in the meantime is pretty limited (didn't the Chartists demand annual parliaments?) - it's better than no democracy at all and people have died for the right to vote that we take for granted.

The thing is with something like the Extreme porn legislation it's not just that legislation that's the issue, it's the whole attitude and integrity (or lack thereof) of the Labour government that it displayed.

Is a party that will invent stories about Guatemalan snuff movies and create patently fake reports about scientific evidence on the effects of pornography, in order to throw innocent people in jail.

OK, it's small fry compared to fake stories about WMD's in order to start a highly destructive war, there's just no way I could ever dream of voting for such immoral scum.

If they stood any chance of gaining power the LibDems would be just the same as the others. Being totally unlikely to form a government they try to scavenge some votes by appealing to minority interest groups.

Great argument against democracy.

So, who do I vote for?

Just say NO. Don't vote! But don't join SirOpenSources Apathy Party either. Sitting on your arse being apathetic isn't going to get us anywhere, ever. Neither is voting.

You cannot join my party. You have not relinquished your current state in return for pure unbridled Apathy. Real Apathy supporters do not sit on their asses they sit on their rightful thrones:-D

We are faced with two right-wing parties who only differ in their emphasis. Labour is authoritarian and the Tories have a laissez-faire attitude to economics, letting the market do all the work, only tweaking the system to benefit the better-off.

As far as I am concerned, the best possible outcome would be a hung parliament (which many think of as the worst possible outcome) with the Lib Dems holding the position of power.

I will be voting Lib Dem this year. I wouldn't dream of telling other people what to vote, but I will say that anybody who votes fascist is an utter fool, incapable of learning the oft-repeated lessons of history.

I get increasingly concerned that no-one has been forceful enough to create the obvious winning party The Apathy Party.

Furthermore has anyone noticed that when Gordon Brown smiles he bears a remarkable resemblance to The Joker from Batman?

what ASBO-lute twaddle! go back and re-check "shrek 2" - just look at who shrek turns into when he adopts his human form...

the apathy party? i mean, i support their cause and all, it's the methods i disagree with...

i couldn't be arsed standing as an MP/MSP/MEP, though. could you?

wi respect,

k

You think I speak twaddle and then relate a serious matter like voting for The Apathy Party to a taddlesome, mythical character such as Shrek who doesn't even have the money to raise a deposit.

I hereby vow that if enough people vote for my Apathy Party I will stand as an MP.

Short answer; vote Lib Dem and hope.

Seconded. How anyone could vote for either of the bigger parties without thinking 'but they're just the same as the other' is beyond me; hopefully the upcoming debates will be just as fruitful as the Chancellors' one. Vince Cable was the only one to attempt a suggestion of sense between them.

Thirded - my father in law says it is a wasted vote but i say hey there is a facebook group called "We got RATM to number one at xmas, now lets get the lib dems into power" - so damn it they have a chance!

ISTR the famous Lindi St.Clair had the right idea in the 1980's when she formed the Corrective Party. she certainly whipped up support amongst her clients!

Was she the one renting a flat from Norman Lamont?

She was fantastic!
