Just what i have always wanted.
Right now hanging from the middle of the wooden frame which is a permanent feature in our living room is hanging a new bit of kit that Master has just bought.
It is some sort of rigging plate, apparently it will hold upto 40k/n which is way more than the average rugby team.
Added to that are five blindingly shiny karabinas and now the end result is a very attractive chandelier, ok it doesnt supply much light but it does look rather good.
Not perhaps the usual thing to see in an otherwise vanilla living room, but one that will prove very useful over the weekend to practice some suspension - energy and bodies willing.
So here is hoping for a successful roping session later on.
be well and be happy

Isn't 40k/n only about 85lbs? So, a very slender rugby team then..... Or does the /n multiply the weight of the k's by 100 or something similar?

i have just checked with Master again and k/n stands for kiloneutons. Apparently it works out in imperial measurement to about 8,640 pounds. The bottom half of GC INC Edited 10 Apr 10, 4:43 PM by xCallyx

That sounds about right. 40 kN is 4 tonnes. It sounds like an interesting bit of kit. Do you have a link to the supplier?

It is an interesting bit of kit and it may be of use in some of the problems I have come across in suspension. I do not have a link to the supplier at the moment. Testing of the unit with start tomorrow and when complete I will post my findings. Githane One Half of GC INC
