I remember liking it when I saw it in old black and white films as a child, even then.

For me it's more symbolic than about pain and I wouldn't want it hard or disfiguring. The head is one of the least safe places ever to hit anyone but a light slap is very sexy. A sharper slap on the thigh as kind of casual discipline is quite erotic too for me. An assertion of authority which reminds you of the relationship between you.

There's a difference between slapping and whacking in my book. Slapping is sting and noise, but not the kind of heavy-handedness to cause the head or face to swing around abruptly. Therefore there should be no risk of brain damage I would assume.

I wouldn't personally want to be *whacked* in the face whether open-handed or with a fist.
