Keeping the motivation going (2)

Hi all, I'm really struggling to keep the motivation going with my weightloss. It seems that nothing can keep me going, whether its my health or that dress I wanted to get into for summer. I keep losing half a stone then wandering off to mcdonalds and putting it all back on again!

I have also noticed that I haven't got one emotion assocaited with my eating and going off track, I can eat whenever, wherever and my body will never tell me I am full.

So my question is how do you keep the motivation going to lose the weight? what stops you going for the bad option and choosing a salad? Any tips for the body never telling me I am full?

I have 5 stone to lose, have done for 3 years but I am hoping someone on here will give me some good advice which can get me on the right track!

rhi xx

It's not about eating a salad rather than a burger, it's more about listening to what your body wants. I've lost 8st and I hate salad! Sometimes having what you want is better than not. If you crave something and eat something else, the likelyhood is you still want the initial craving so you end up eating the something else and the craved food.

One thing worth considering, with the not feeling full thing, is what contraception and/or medication you're on. I use the injection (Depo) and that stops the signals getting to my brain to tell my stomach it's full. Once I learned what being hungry felt like, it was easier to deal with. There are other contraception methods/medication which affect the brain in a similar way.

I seem to have that problem, if I don't have what I crave I tend to go a bit crazy with the food a few hours later. I am trying a food diary to see what times and what emotions trigger my food gorges. Its not particuarly changed what I am eating yet, but I am seeing patterns which I can start to work on now.

I am on Yasmin, but was on the depo untill 6 months ago, came off it due to the crap sex drive, and don't think it was effecting my food. Might discuss the yasmin with the doctor though, see if there is an alternative or a link. I guess I haven't felt hunger for a while now as food tends to be on tap, but fingers crossed a few changes in my life will make a difference on this

Thanks :) xx

'As long as you look at me, whilst youre strangling me, I'd be fine with that!'
