Ok so where's the obligatory Dr Who thread? Is it hidden under an unusual title or is this it?
And if this is it, then what the hell has happened to IC? Has IC become so dull that people won't even post about the new Doc, especially as it involved handcuffs? Or is everyone in a chocolate coma?
I would have posted after the show last night but had to empty my stomach and then go out.
So anyway, what do people think of Doctor Matt?
I thought he actually did a good job, some things weren't perfect like him being able to focus on a name badge that was on the other side of a person from him. But maybe he employs that space technology that other Sci-Fi shows have that show a space ship approaching the planet/ship from behind or the side.
Still I have good hopes for the lad. And I have good hopes for his new companion. Although I am hoping the police outfit makes a reappearance. And she is a vast, huge, galactic, multidimensional improvement upon donaaaahhhhhhh! However the wedding bit at the end was kinda obvious.
Not sure about the redesigned Tardis, but they didn't show a really good shot of it. Do like the raised walk way part, not sure about the bong in the up and downy bit and the typewriter.

i enjoyed it - albeit some of it was very predictable. I think he'll fit in nicely, but gonna reserve judgement until after a couple more episodes.. as for the TARDIS - Pimped! *hugs* --- | |

I thought he was useless as a Doctor. No charm humour or charisma. The new interior is just plain wrong. It doesn't look like it would function at all. However the new assistant - in kissogram gear - hello! Very poor story too. Please please please can Doctor Who actually do some travelling!!!! 6/10 so far.. I came, I saw, I concurred | |

Yeah, the story could have been a lot better. They seem to have a habit of him saving the world after regeneration. But it gives him the opportunity of picking up a new companion, although why he can't pick up a few alien ones or at least humans from the future who colonised other planets. And London and Cardiff are getting boring so was nice to see them go elsewhere, but still, there are other places than just Britain, heck even Ireland would make a nice change. But I did think he did ok, although I still like David best of the new ones. I always behave. I just don't specify how. | |

In my household we were huge David Tenant fans  Wasnt sure if the new doctor would live upto him but we said we would watch it to see if he did or not.
I have to say we were impressed, we liked him Matt Smith has made the doctor funny, zany and quite mad
Its great family entertainment and we shall be watching all the episodes | |

Have to agree with both points here. Thought he was very poor and verged on a parody at times. But the girl...!! That's another story.
Let's just hope that short skirts and black tights become de rigeur for all female assistants. Just drop the clumpy shoes though.

My son and I watched last night and we are both reserving judgement on the new boy...he seems just a little bit insipid (and oh so young) at the moment but he needs time to settle in and I don't think the story gave him an awful lot to work with. | |

I missed the first 20 minutes so will have to play catch up on iplayer. Still reserving judgement, though I'll most probably watch the new series anyway. You've got to give these things a chance after all. The new Doctor I think still has to find his way a bit. He almost seemed like he was trying a bit too hard. I hope the character will settle and his own individual quirks will come out. I dont have a quote so I'll leave this bit blank...........cos I dont want to use up space till I have something really good to put here | |

i must admit i thing the new doctor isnt as bad as i thought he would be not the best looking but he did pull it off he will never take over david tennant but he was good and his assistant well yummy lol very sexy Instead of complaining that rose bushes have thorns, rejoice that thorn bushes bloom |
