Voyeurism - It seems most of our community is based on being consensual. But I'm interested to know how the community views voyeurism, particularly when its non-consensual (which I'd imagine is most of the time). And do people opinions change when it involves the nilla community? Discuss?

For me, you've answered your own question. It's non-consensual, ergo, absolutely not okay. I once had a friend whose husband's kink was to hide in a closet and watch her with casual lovers. Neither of them saw anything wrong with it, but I'd imagine a lot of the people she slept with under those circumstances would disagree. I honestly can't see how anyone could justify uninformed as acceptable. love the brave but avoid cowards, knowing the gratitude of cowards is small ~Praxilla of Sicyon

I believe that we all enjoy voyeurism, whether we are kink or vanilla, usually when we have some control over whether we do this. I think that any accidental display is usually welcome, whichever gender, when we can choose to look or not look, or even have a perv. But I am not sure what you mean by non consensual. Do you plan hiding in the park wearing just a coat - Deeply Devious?

A peeping tom is a peeping tom but other than that I'm not sure what you mean by unconsensual? As far as voyeurism in a club, all I can say is, if you don't like people watching then don't play in a public place. There's plenty of exhibitionists out there but they couldn't be exhibitionists without the voyeurs!! Voyeurism with the general vanilla public is to be expected if you do something to bring attention to yourself. Most of us are people watchers. I can sit all day and watch people and if I see someone beautiful then I often do a double take but then beauty does tend to attract a lot of voyeurism. Our new web site www.edgeplay.co.uk

Stepping into a club that has no private rooms etc.. leave you open to voyers. If you dont like it dont play. If you dont mind it but end up with wanky men or women then all you have to do is ask them not to, if they persit then speak to a DM. Were all Voyer's in our own little way, its how most of us learn methods, techniques, notice something we like and want to try or a potential partner or play opportunity. And as has been mentioned without voyer's where would the exhabitionists be which im one of. Unless someone interupts or disturbs our play i see no harm in people gaining pleasure from watching. You have eyes, if what you see, disturbs "you" avert your gaze. If life isn't fun your doing it wrong.

One of my major kinks in voyeurism. In fantasy, it can be non-consensual, but in reality I would never, ever watch someone without their knowledge or consent. The thought of being watched is very erotic. Watching is very erotic. Being spied upon when you dont want is not nice. Depends on the situation

But how do you know that the said person does not want to be watched and im sure there are many times when a curtain is left open in fact I know for sure that some like the thrill of this. If you walk about naked on full view well im sure to a degree you cant really get huffy if someone sees you. But if you crawl through a hedge and peer over a wall then that is a very different thing. |
