Ok...I'm going to give this a go...

Totally out of my 'comfort zone' here,so any help/advice would be appreciated.

Oh...I've already primed the canvas.

Thanks.

I usually work in acrylic, rather than oils.

It is much easier to get the desired effect i think, though does somewhat depend on your style.

Working on canvas is ok, I prefer hardboard myself, depends on the kind of thing you want to achieve.

Good luck, and have fun!

I'm doing a sort of panorama painting on three canvases, all the same size.

I've painted with oils, many years ago,and although I found them quite managable,i'd prefer a quicker drying medium without the 'fuss'...If you know what I mean?

Thanks.

Err...Well...I just bought a cheap pack...but as the paintings are only for myself, and I'm sailing in un-chartered territory,I'll just see how it goes first.

Just do what you want to do. Some of the best art in the world has been created with the cheapest of materials. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outsider_art

Happy painting :-)

Paintbrushes would be good too. (Although palette knives are also a lot of fun :-D )

A little bad taste is like a nice dash of paprika (D. Parker)
