I tend to disagree, constructive criticism is part of the natural chain of development in all aspects of human life. Its a feedback arc and you want to discourage this? Dystopia worked fantastically on one aspect, with the right feedback and attention paid to this then it can be the most wonderful event in the calendar. Without, then it would not grow to the heights originally promised. ETA- From what I know of the organisers I doubt they are up their own bottoms to the point of not wanting to know what problems may have occured. Its natural that things will have gone wrong it was a first event in circumstances that differed to their original plan. It's only by having the full picture they can appropriately plan their next event. Edited 28 Mar 10, 9:30 PM by LacednLicked

- I am right. - Agree with me. - Or piss off. Not the most positive of openings to a discussion. What about people who are unsure, where should they go?

as being the one to start the construcive critism off which seems to have pissed afew people off ( tuff luck ) i aggree with LacednLicked what would be the point in doing somthing that is good but could be better we learn by being told in all aspecks of life and if people want to disagree with that and moan about it then fine but they would prob get more out of taking notes and helping than moaning aboput critism

I read the feedback for dystopia and personally I thought it was all fantastic - definitely makes it seem like a very appealing club. The constructive criticism was obviously well intended and again obviously well received by the organisers. All of which gives me confidence to think the next one will be even better. I'm definitely in the camp of constructive criticism is a positive thing - especially if there is the wisdom there to take it on board and use it - which definitely seems to be the case here. No one has came along and shed dystopia in a bad light because of some minor teething problems - I'm not really understanding what the issues are with the idea of people wanting to help improve something! All feedback is welcomed- we're never going to get better without it! All thoughts will be taken on board for the next event in June so we can hopefully make something even bigger and better! Miss D x

I totally agree. I came away late that night thinking 'WOW'. The entertainment, the set up of the candles, cakes and the wonderfull peeps who helped in serving the drinks ect were fantastic. The atmospher was alive with lust, wonderfull perfume, excentricism and colour. I totally have the 100% confidence that the next event will be even better. Thank you soooo much to the organisers and others who got down and dirty in just 2 weeks JUST to make sure we ALL had a fantastic time. All the critisisms mentioned is very good and contrustive and as they have already said this I'm sure they feel that they have done an amazing job to this. What a fantastic first event. I know that in past events there have been worse coments than this so this really is just teething problems.
Well done to all.....I so look forward to going again. After the light of day, darkness comes and kneels to obey!!

There was a whole load of moaning about the lack of clubs to go to. Then some people got off their arses and made something happen. Not an easy or uncomplicated thing to do. As with the Afterglow thread, the point made by the O/P has been overtaken by negatives which is very sad. Hussar is a well-seasoned clubber and his accolade that the younger crowd are doing something for people is echoed by me. I think everyone should like everybody ..... Andy Warhol

Its really great to see people backing a local event, we know what hard work it can be bringing everything together, we hope we have a similar amount of interest for Rubbered Up North 3 on 22nd May @ Partners in Bury. Good Luck with your June event Miss D & Co.

Just because an event exists in an event vacuum does not mean you have to overlook its faults. Shit events deserve to fail. Why should people put up with a crap event because it is the only thing in the area? (This is not aimed at Dystopia as I haven't been to it, but do intend to go sometime soon) The best events ask for criticism. The criticism you get tells you two things, 1) what is wrong and 2) how bad or good things really are. There will be things people complain about which are irrelevant, eg the colour of the walls, but they will also complain about things organisers haven't spotted and this is very useful. The type of complaints also tell you how right you are getting it. If they complain the music was too loud and the dungeon equipment is a bit too comfortable you are getting things pretty correct, if they complain about the attitude of the staff or the prices, you need to do a big reexamine. (Again I haven't seen the Dystopia complaints thread so have no idea what was said.) Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button? |
