Well been a while since I wrote. Sao where to begin, been spending time at Avalon's. Good times and what joy it always is to be there in her company and well to find a love unexpected. It is only a short bus ride to see here and I have three days off in the week and life just gets better. Work is as work does I suppose nothing new, same round of frustration etc. So when visiting Avalon's she is often working through the day or part of it this gives me time to practise my camping and bushcraft skills. So it is off to the woods hitch up tarp and hammock and see what I need to take and what can stay at home. And I am slowly getting it honed down to basics. Often it is all too easy to carry too much and often stuff that is not necessary. Have almost done a basic list for an overnight or weekend trip . but these trips would not happen without Avalon's support and encouragement. We go for walks and you can see them on FB or you tube, through wonderful mixed woodland there is much deer sign. And of course we see the year opening up into spring. The small leaves of Honeysuckle are now showing. Or were a few weeks back they are a lot bigger now. And the green spears of blue bells are sprouting up, and all around both flora and fauna are deep into the delights of spring. We have walked around Dunorlan park in the most torrential rain and what joy it was. 'some people walk in the rain, others just get wet' we walk in the rain. People miss so much of life by only going out when fine. And though much of the park was akin to a swamp it was just so bloody joyful. And a week later we walked around the park again and it was fine and dry we had a small picnic and watched blackbirds and squirrels about their business, we sat in a wilder part of the park. While in the woods the other day laying in my hammock I saw not far from me and was quite close considering a Fox then a little later some crows were mobbing a Buzzard. I have seen quite a few wood peckers mostly greater spotted and one green and a heap of other little birds and wild life. And have spotted much fungi mostly Mazegills and polypore. And sadly the detritus of the species called homo sapiens why oh why are we so damn filthy and uncaring about our little planet. And oh we spotted some deer which can be seen on my YouTube channel these are sika and are kept in a small park. One Thursday night I went along to Avalon's brownie pack to demonstrate fire making and I also joined in some songs and games and had a very enjoyable time. I have walk around the outskirts of Tunbridge wells to a place called toad rock at Rustall and stopped to admire the view over the high weald looking towards the place where I will be in summer on a Woodlore course ............ And to the Pantiles which is a lot of very high priced shops and restaurants. This is actually the place where Tunbridge wells was founded the wells are there still, a Chalybeate spring the water being very iron rich and tastes a bit rusty. Around the area there are a few springs some Chalybeate and others just ordinary. All in all the past few weeks have been blissful. And at the moment I am making a Kuksa from a birch burr I was lucky to find. So to all I wish you all deep blessings and much love and light..... Blessed be, peter XXXXX

Happy for your joy with Avalon. Your writing is beautiful to read but it is even more heartwarming to know that your absence from this board is for such a good and fulfilling reason. Best wishes to you both. The nice lady with the whip. |
