It really pisses me off when I call a company and I'm put through to a foreigner that can't understand what the hell I'm saying and vice versa.
I called a credit-card company earlier to give my new address. Should've been simple enough you agree? Was it fuck. Twenty minutes later I'd finally managed to change my address. Well, I think so, anyway. I repeated my new address and she said she understood. Fingers crossed, eh? Thinking about it, there's no fucking telling where my next statement may end up...

I have to totally agree with you on this one and anyone who tries to use the race card can go take a friggin jump cos anyone with any brains can see this isn't about race. My phone calls cost me so the longer i'm on the phone the more I pay. I expect to at least speak to someone who can understand me in my own country and whom I can understand back. I have the mental capacity also to know if i am speaking to someone in another country and my accent may seem strong to them, I will speak slowly and clearly. When I ask them to repeat themselves how can they not bloody well get that I don't need them to repeat the same unintelligable babble they just said at the same speed but to slow it down!! Grrrrrr!!

Yeah, the place where I work has its call centres - which, loosely speaking, means our Helpdesk, in India - it is nigh on impossible to understand or hear them! I put it off until I really really need them. Ridiculous! "Nothing saves anyone's life, Sir. It just postpones their death." - Posner , The History Boys.

Yes, they can. I don't give a toss where they're from, so long as I can converse with them. It's not a lot to ask for is it?!
Seemingly, it is... | |

Just imagine what confusion someone I know got, when she changed from Mr (name) to Miss (new name) and had to try to explain that to someone in a call centre in India or somewhere similar. I don't think that ever got through. Polyamory is wrong! |
