Over the last week I've been teaching myself how to make single tail whips. After much research and a whole lot of twiddling I've managed to make a fairly respectable snakewhip. Go me!
She's 3ft long with a 2ft fall, made out of paracord with a fully braided belly. Not as tight as I might have liked her to be, but she knows how to break the sound barrier ![]()
I shall continue the research.

Sure. I never found a one stop, all in one tutorial for making a whip, so I kinda pieced it together from a lot of different sources. This is the first braid I learned. It's also the last braid in the whip I made. Diagram of how a whip is made. Mince doesn't have a bolster though, some people say having a bolster is the mark of a good whip, others say NOT having a bolster is the mark of a good whip. A really great tutorial on how to tie a pineapple knot, that's the one on the end. | ||
