The Vernal Equinox has come and gone, and we are now on the uphill slope through Spring to Summer.
I have worn my beard (a neatly trimmed goatee - although it wasn't always neatly trimmed) since approximately the Autumn Equinox. It's a small eccentricity I have - I call it my "winter face".
Come the Vernal Equinox, I shave it off - to allow my face to have even coverage of cold, sun, whatever...
Yesterday, I shaved it off.
I have to say, I had doubts about shaving it off, as it had become a comfortable friend, along with the associated tics and mannerisms. Some of you with beards will know what I mean.
The beard came off. My face looked fresh and young, with a rosy glow.
And then the howls of anguish started...
Reprisals were threatened, but withdrawn, after some negociation.
Truth to tell, I want to keep the beard anyway - and only 3 weeks to go before it's back...
