i am now into my fifth day of taking this new medication.
So far its been a bit like a roller coaster. Loads of ups and downs and a few teething problems along the way.
However overall it has been quite a positive experience.
i have had no problems sticking the needles into myself thats the easy part.
The hard part has been finding that i have very little appetite for food anymore. Yes i know thats a good thing when you are as overweight as i am but it has also meant that i am facing a mental battle of old habits versus new feelings.
Tonight i got told that the amount of food on my plate was approximately the quantity that the person talking to me feeds to her two year old grandaughter and yet i didnt feel that i was depriving myself of anything.
Unfortunately what little i did eat was expelled rather unpleasantly shortly thereafter.
All in all i am over the moon with this new medication. i know that i am in this thing for the long haul and will probably have to take it for the rest of my life, but the blood sugar readings that i am getting already has proved to me just how effective it is.
i also know that eventually i will adapt to this medication and that i will probably regain my appetite somewhat. All i am hoping is that by the time that happens i will have learnt some new habits and will not be slipping back into those naughty old ones.
be well and be happy
