The BHWT people are definitely the way forward. Former battery hens are inquisitive at their new surroundings, known to be good company and often lay throughout the year. You need to contact the British Hen Welfare Trust www.bhwt.co.uk who will be able to help. There is a 1 hour documentary due to be screened in April,time and date not confirmed yet, called, (The secret Life Of The Chicken) Hope that helps. | ||

Thanks for all the info guys, I'm in the Netherlands so not much use to get British hens BUT I did found some useful chicken keeping info which helps.
