I wouldnt. But then I wouldnt notice. I knew my friend for months before hearing her speaking Punjabi on the phone- yup, I never noticed she was Asian. I cant say I've ever looked at a person and thought, right you are female, I will treat you this way. Maybe I'm just not that perceptive, maybe open minded (I like to think its the latter!). I like to think my own gender is immedialty obvious to others, what with body shape, height, mannerisms, the way I dress. I'm not a girly girl (currently- this changes every now and then!) but I know I cant pass for male. I think my height rules out people seeing me as TV or TG or anything else- I'm 5 2. If they have chosen to dress female then I would treat as female.

Thats not what the OP asked, treating someone in a way and perceiving/identifying them are to different things. instead of posturing why not answer the question?

I see what you're asking. On a conscious basis, I don't classify anyone, much as an earlier poster said. However, on occasion, I have been surprised by something that really wouldn't have surprised me if I hadn't classified the person in some way. For example, a fairly new work colleague mentioned a girlfriend. It was only the 'Oh, so he's straight!' thought that ran through my head that made me realise that I'd thought he was gay. Till that moment, I would have denied making any judgement about his sexuality at all as I hadn't given it a second's conscious thought. My answer to the actual question posed would be that I would be consciously not classifying at all, but subconsciously feeling 'tg'. Edit after more thought: actually, I don't know whether I would feel 'tg' after all, or certainly not in every case. I got to thinking of a certain IC member who I always think of as 'she'. I know this person spends probably 70% of her life as a middle aged man, but she's always a 9 year old girl to me, because that's who she's been whenever I've met her. It would feel really freaky to refer to her as 'him' or to hear someone else doing so. It's only a weblog Edited 19 Mar 10, 10:25 PM by Romola

By enlarge I'd say you've been spending too much time at a keyboard Pen. ETA: BTW I was watching TV and there was this French film of a TS on a TGV listening to a CD. Oh dear that's probably not very funny is it? Well it's late and I'm tired. And male. My object all sublime... Edited 19 Mar 10, 10:29 PM by stormywaters

TG - as your choice lets this definition include TV and CD Cross dressing is a big part of what I do and I've had quite a bit of contact with TG folk so that's probably my natural reaction I know this is a bit of a cop out but I think it also depends a bit on context - however, most of the time TG

I personally just accept them for who they are when I meet or talk to them. However is that maybe because my husband is a tv and I accept him as himself or as his other half Kerrie? Maybe l am just open minded enough to just see who is there in front of me not if they are male or female. ~~~The power of submission lies not in the ability to kneel before another, to give over one's body or in the wearing of a collar......... The power of submission can be found only in the heart of the one who gives her love to another freely knowing the joy and pain will come from it.~~~
