How soon do you want a new camera, they keep on saying the Canon 60d should be out in the near future but then again been saying that for months. Between a 7d and a 550d i'd go for the 7d, think its a much better camera, specs wise they look similar but when you really start to look into it, a huge difference. I've got a 40d at the moment and one of the biggest things i've noticed from upgrading from a 350d was the wheel control at the back of the 40d. Makes using the camera much more fluid, was using a friends 450d the other week and found it awkward and fiddly using manual mode. Kinda spoiled now and would hate to go back to the xxxd controls compared to a the xxd or 7d controls.
