Thanks everyone who has taken time to respond so far. So, it seems that there is potential for such a munch. And I'm pleased to see a variety of instruments being suggested. I had a couple of memos from saxophonists too, and of course they'd be welcome. So we have drummers, guitarists, uke players and saxophonists so far. Any singers? I think @Mistress_Sussannah 's suggestion makes a lot more sense to minimise annoying others, so I guess the next stage would be to start looking at a venue that could be hired out for an afternoon/evening. The important thing is I'm genuinely intending this as a musical munch rather than trying to set up a band: there'd be a melting pot of musical tastes and abilities but I think this is what would make it fun.

I've an answer for that but you might not like it Actually this is why the idea of hiring a venue works better if folks need to plug in their instruments of torture - an unplugged session still appeals to me too though Take me to bed and rip me apart | |
