Is the only thing that determines your age on your profile the 'year of birth' field in the ad settings? Went in to change mine and couldn't see any other way. Hey - I live on a Scottish island - we don't need an excuse for a big party on 1st January...
Or any other time for that matter Hmmm - racehorses. An unintended admission by admin of a predilection for pony play???? Subette I want to reconcile the violence in your heart. I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask. - Muse, Undisclosed desires

Or to get your age right just put your birth year back,on your birthday, one year earlier till Jan 1st Edited 18 Mar 10, 4:22 PM by Gentleman_Tom

One advantage of not having a date of birth visible to people is it makes it harder for people to nick your identity. If your age nicely clicks over on your birthdate bad people know when you were born and are up and running when it comes to getting other information about you. By the same criteria anybody who dares to celebrate their birthday could be in danger of having their identity nicked

I don't think this is the case because my birthday is later in the year, so if the system thought my birthday was Jan 1st, it would be saying that I'm 23 already, but it's not, it's got my correct age down...

IC is generous. You are the correct age until your birthday, and then you are a year too young until the next January 1st.

Thats right but on and after your birthday you will still be down as 22 until January 1st when it will change to 23

They do. I was reading an article about data mining the other day and scammers are using Facebook and similar places to ascertain peoples' birth dates. If a profile suddenly has multiple people wishing them happy birthday you then know when they were born. It isn't hard to automatically spot birthday threads. With this information you can get a birth certificate. With a birth certificate you can get a National Insurance Number, Driving Licence etc. Why don't cash machines have a Gamble button?

Ah I see - guess I didn't notice this because my birthday is RIGHT at the end of December (please no one steal my identity! Actually, do, please help yourselves to my debt...) |
