i used to belong to Collarme where they have that function. I wouldn't like it to happen here. If i'm reading posts on Informed Consent I sometimes like to look at the posters profile to see what they are about or to work out if it's someone I know - just out of simple curiousity. What I found at Collarme is that if you view someones profile, they are aware of it and sometimes think you are eyeing them up - especially members of the opposite sex. Yes I defo would ! ! ! ! Given that I have had 6343 looks at my profile and only 20 people message me. ALT (shock horror) Has that facility and Im glad I could see who was checking out my profile... As it happens I rarely look at others profiles unless they message me or we meet up. As for my few messages ??? hmmm I think a new thread may follow ..... The last time I can find that this subject was discussed is here: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/248052/ As the help forum doesn't go back beyond May 09 I can't find any earlier threads so I can't quote Admin but the overall consensus always seems to be no. The anonymity of being able to view profiles always seems to be listed as a bonus of IC. People may well not view your profile if they thought that it would generate a memo. So what would the overall 'benefits' be of such a function? | |
