Fuji Finpix 1000FD is a good Bridge camera and the macro setting is very good. I'd be very interested in attending any workshops or shoots. I consider myself experienced but not a professional. I would be happy to take images for people if I could keep my favourite work, and you bought me lunch! I'm Ready - Muddy Waters

I would agree with using a quality "bridge" compact if it works out cheaper than a budget DSLR. Those that shoot "RAW" will be the ones to go for even if you only shoot the highest quality jpegs. Budget DSLRs from Olympus seem to be quite good value. Film equipment is cheaply available and can be digitised either with a scanner or by asking the D+P lab to produce a CD. Try to get the CD at the best quality/highest file size. For digital camera reviews sites like Steve's Digicams, for reasonbly priced film Mathers of Lancashire and for an affordable scanner look for Plustek. I have considered doing a workshop myself but it would have to be for a very small group as my studio space is limited but still capable of producing the goods.

Hi
My advice would be to buy a better quality second hand camera
I got my canon eos for just over a hundred quid and although its an "older"camera, its a bloody good one Oliver x Edited 12 Jul 10, 11:55 PM by Oliver1959

I can highly recommend reading rodm's book: Mastering Digital Nude Photography. It's not bdsm orientated per se, but is mostly applicable.

I almost organised an informal workshop last year when I started doing the Kinky Camera Club, but since moving into deepest, darkest Hertfordshire I have no idea where I would host one. If a group of people wanted to come together and split the costs for a location and a model, then I'd potentially be happy to throw ideas into the ring as an observer on the day. I'm only a beginner myself, so it might be a bit like the blind leading the blind, but at least I've been on the other side of the camera for this sort of thing.
