Pixels don't grow on trees you know. If the world runs out of pixels, all the computers will dry up, so it's as well to use pixels frugally.

Now that China is getting wired up, the demand for pixels is likely to grow rapidly, especially as Chinese characters are more elaborate and use many more pixels too.

Admin are working on updating the site so that after you finish reading a page, it can be returned to IC and then re-sent to the next person. This will obviously be more eco-friendly than just deleting pages that still have a useful life.

I am hoarding pixels from old sites and long ago forgotten profiles on various web boards for when the inevitable pixel-crisis shows itself in rationing and higher taxation on a post-count basis.

When it becomes illegal to retain pixels for anything other than personal electronic picture frames I hope that my pre-ban stash will enable some digital freedom fighters to keep the pixilated flame of freedom burning.

Roly, this is just a continuation of an earlier problem. Fortunately this was largely solved by international trade agreements. A severe shortage of the letter "L" in Wales was helped by bulk imports from the USA. In the meantime the Welsh vowel surplus was sent east to help the Finns who in turn could send lots of consonants as emergency aid to Poland.

The problem with pixels is that they are the same the world over. The only exception is in the southern hemisphere where their inverted pixel is totally incompatible with our standard version. This means that the discovery of enormous reserves of pixels in Antarctica will be no help to Europe and the USA.
