I used to enjoy reading the featured write ups and news, they gave great views of an event and brought us invaluable information on the legal issues affecting us into BDSM, but there hasn't been one highlighted since August 2009. The top three used to be featured prominently on the main page but are no longer visible except by going through the writeups link. Is this a deliberate policy following the change to the guest and members pages or just one of those things that has lapsed into disuse? I'm sure that people are still posting weblogs as write ups but they just don't make it to the highlighted status any more.

It may also be because few people mark their stuff as writeups any more as when writeups first came in people labelled any old crap as being deeply significant to others. Admin not falling for it allowed very few things to attain writeup status, thus few writeups appeared and as such no one saw them and were reminded they exist. It's one of those things that didn't really work out: the best authors were too modest to mark their posts as (ordinary) write-ups and a lot of self-promotion got marked instead. So the "featured write-ups" chosen by Admin were mostly made up of ones noticed rather than put forward by the people who had written them in the way originally hoped for. I've tidied the link away from the sidebar now. Thanks, Admin Remember: it's only a website Edited 15 Mar 10, 11:39 AM by Admin |
