Aww my lil man is perfect, well worth the wait.
My labour was only 4 and a half hours, start to finish.
Wasn't even sure if I was in labour to be honest, I was convinced it was a false alarm again, so refused to go into hospital, even ordered a Chinese, managed to eat that, have a bath..then finally my chap dragged me in, with much protesting from me that its not the real thing
By the time we got their my contractions were every 3 minutes, ha.
I didn't get the birth I wanted, the midwife was abit of a dragon and because of my diabetes made me be hooked up permanantly to a monitor so I couldn't walk about or get off the bed.
She insisted I laid on my back, even though I was in agony as throughout the pregnancy ive had severe pelvic/hip pain and lying on your back is such a bad position to give birth in!
I did the whole thing just with Entonox, which im really proud of though.
Its a real big shame I didn't get the birth experience I wanted and that the midwife was a dragon but lil man is perfect.
Straight away with no help he breastfed for 45 minutes non stop.
I went into hospital at 10pm Sunday, gave birth at 12:43am, then came home at 2pm Monday, so didn't even stay a full 24 hours, which was nice!
Only thing I am worried about is the midwife came over unexpectedly yesterday to see if i was ok. Apparantly the woman in the next bed to me on the post natal ward has come down seriously ill with an infection, so the midwive came over to make sure I was ok.
I feel fine, but am uber paranoid now, but hopefully because I didn't stay too long in hospital that cut my chances of catching it.
Lil man is fast asleep with his daddy at the moment.
Dunno why my chap is soundo, its been me doing all the nightfeeds and bum changes! Ha.
