Finally..............
three hours after starting my quest and four attempts at it i have finally done it.
The fourth attempt took all my stamina, my sanity and my Masters patience but its now done.
What you ask?
i have finally managed to change the insurance policy over to another car.
It has taken a total of 2 hours of hanging on the end of a phone, listening to songs such as 'Walking on Sunshine' and 'Have a nice day'
Finally, finally i got to talk to an actual live human being called Sid. When i told him what i wanted he told me that it would cost me £18 for the privilege of talking to him rather than doing it online. i then explained that i had tried to change it online but their site wouldnt let me. This of course meant that he had to go and get authorisation to waive the fee. So yes it was back to that bloody music again.
The funny thing was that he tried to sell me home insurance at the same time. He was told in no uncertain terms that considering i had taken so long to get through to just change a policy did he honestly think that i would be stupid enough to take out another policy with such a firm. Give him guts for trying though.
Anyway at least now i am insured and though exhausted happy that i didnt have to resort to slitting my wrists.
be well and be happy

I had to deal with Aviva to amend a relative's car and house insurance and found the two 'departments' to be completely different when it comes to dealing with customers. House insurance at that time seemed to have a UK call centre and bent over backwards to advise, recommend and ultimately repay part of the premium. The car insurance was a completely different matter to the extent that I subsequently made two formal complaints about how it was handled, including not sending out any documentation, denying the policy was ever in place, denying the insured ever existed, and then refusing to refund the now cancelled policy premium. I would never recommend an Aviva car insurance policy to anyone unless they wished to raise their blood pressure a notch or two. |
