He shouldn't be too hard to spot, amongst a veritable mega horde of rugby supporters, supporting various home nations, he may well be the only person with a St Mirren scarf and a look of staggering optimism on his face.

Hey,
i wanted to go for that look
back to the cats ears then i guess...

I've heard of masochism, but supporting St Mirren is really taking it to a new level. |

Rangers have been in the League Cup final 32 times, winning 25 of them. St Mirren have been in the final once, almost winning it.
This would make the odds on St Mirren winning not as good as could be hoped for. According to Brokelads Rangers are 4/1 on and St Mirren are 9/1 against. I would say look upon it as being a fine historic occasion, even I am not old enough to have been alive the last time St Mirren were in the League Cup Final but I have met people who were. One of whom was part of the St Mirren Team which won the Scottish Cup in 1926. I even held his medal.

We don't reach many finals but we usually do OK when we get there.
Barcelona Cup - Winners 1922 1st British winners of a European trophy League Cup runners up 1955/56 Anglo-Scottish Cup runners up 1977/78 and only Scottish winning team in 1979/80. Scottish Cup runners up 1908, 1934, 1962 and winners 1926, 1959, 1987. If we win on Sunday it would take our success rate in national cup finals up to 50%

45 years ahead of Celtic, St Mirren were indeed champions of Europe, beating Barcelona in a tournament held to celebrate the opening of their new ground. |
