Maybe you'd have trouble finding it if you live in East/Central London. Two places at once? Very clever.

What would we need to pay to hire a room in a pub or bar do you think? If it is going to be an event it would be nice to have space to move around and chat to different people. Some might think that £10 for a private venue and buffet isn't too expensive. Otherwise it seems it would be just another munch. What do you suggest would be better??!!

Did you click on the link that Mistress Kitten added so that you could find out about The Factory?

I agree. I work in the West End but would still think it is worth a visit. Something a bit different for single people for a change.

Mistress Kitten, we've met at a couple of events before. I don't live close to the venue but if I can help at all I'd be glad to. You are at least being pro-active and doing something! I've been on here for years and I hardly ever post but I just think we should support things rather than criticise and not offer an alternative suggestion.

Question: Can I get to Romford via the Tube? | |||

Just to say, when the young lady in question asked if our venue might be available the conversation went something like; “I'm thinking of trying to organise an event for single people on the scene, I would need a venue, how much would it cost to hire @The_Factory, I have no idea how many would come though so can't throw lots of money at it” Our reply; “That's ok, let's see if we can find you a date that's available, give it a go at a small charge, that might or might not even cover the costs, people can bring their own alcohol, so keeping it a cheap night out all in all. If no one comes or only a few, no worries, no one has lost a great deal” We will hold this event for M.kitten if she still wishes and can assure those that do support her efforts that a friendly welcome will be waiting, because we will worry about the people that do come, not those that don't. So If we have a postcode that doesn't give you a nose bleed, you can find your way out of your own street and if your chosen vintage does travel rather better than some cheaper ones do........... just come and have a good time with other single folk. Oh to organise events. Amidst the "research" (previous thread) with a strong amount of support, out come the creatures from the dampest, darkest holes in the shadows to protest. Do It Yourself mebbe? Holding an event like this in "central" would be an almost totally out of pocket event for whoever had the cahonas to organise it. Finding a venue like "The Factory" who are cool enough to hold the event as a feeler be it a profit being made, breaking even or in fact making a loss is freaking rare these days. As much as I would want to show my support by physically being there, I break rule 1: being single (tee hee hee).
So I'll shout and holler and generally be sending vibes of the positive demeanor in your direction Mistress Kitten /o/ Edited 7 Mar 10, 6:04 PM by Anansie |
