Dear Babes,

Recently on Waltons Mountain: "I love the rage this entirely innocuous idea has generated."

What's going on?: Inexperienced? New? Thoughtful? Expresive? I'm sorry, you're not welcome on IC web boards anymore.

Pardon? Emotional response captured: All too frequently do people on here jump to the defensive, become rude and obnoxious. Belittling people with anger and sarcasm. It's pathetic and you are driving people away and discouraging them from posting. Fine, if the debate is such that it should evoke frustration, let it fly.. but for something like "why don't we all wear badges with IC on them?" Grow up! Reply to the user like he matters please, because he does matter.

In conclusion: Why can't you just answer the question, give your opinions and wind your necks in? You can't coz you love it don't you? OMG did they just SPELL something WRONG! Did they just EXPRESS a DESIRE to NOT use a SAFEWORD! Did they just call me Babes? SHIT SON!

The Law says: EVERY MEMBER OF IC HAS A RIGHT TO POST ON HERE WITHIN THE AUP. WE ARE ALL EQUAL. NOBODY IS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE, AND I'VE STARTED MEMOING USERS YOU'VE BATTERED WITH YOUR WITTY PUT DOWNS TO APOLOGISE AND ASSURE THEM WE DON'T ALL BEHAVE THAT WAY! SO THERE! HA! In your face small mindeditis and judgementalillness!

Recommendations: A mix of light hearted threads such as my wonderful idea ~*Backdraft*~. Genuine debate, without emotional limits and kind respectful replies to simple questions. Obvious anger at obvious stupidity, if they ain't called you a cunt don't try and get in first. Check before you bark, if you're not sure if they're calling you a cunt, don't assume, ask. Rise above foolishness, reward good behaviour and ignore bad. Admin says "it's only a bleedin website mush!" (actual quote), remember it.

Evaluation: Not a bad idea, very clever and deliciously hilarious. This girl will go far because she knows that even the newest member of the BDSM ELITE has something to learn and to teach.

We're all responsible!

Muchos Amore, Your favourite Quaker, Bex xxxx

i don't appreciate you creeping up on me like a dog at a disco...

When you get down to it, some people aren't very nice at all.

True fact :(

A very well put OP.

There's a big difference between disagreeing with a post and deriding it. I'm afraid a lot of posts do lean towards the latter.

I see no harm in a little humour on most threads. As a fair proportion of my posts are attempts at humour, however lame some may think that humour to be, I would say that wouldn't I?

I have a rule however, that if the jokes on anybody, it's on me.

I'm sure few on here intend to alienate anyone, except for those who appear bent on provocation themselves.

A culture of conflict can stifle healthy debate. I received a private memo this weekend from someone who didn't agree with one of my posts and didn't want to post publicly as it may appear argumentative. It appears an undercurrent of conflict can prevent fair disagreements, an essential element of any debate, being posted for fear of fanning flames.

I wholeheartedly agree with your evaluation. Pat on the rear from whomever you'd like it.

I still think Admin reminds me of Marshmallow Man. I just hate smileys.

God, do you know what? This has really opened my eyes. I'm fairly new-ish here and haven't made many posts but I realize my style of humour may have caused offence.

It's a shame, because I was really rather liking IC but it's probably best if I just toddle off. Thanks to the experienced OP for pointing out how wrong I am. So very wrong. :(

Oh let's untwist our knickers shall we??? Yes there were some smart arsed remarks, along with some genuinely helpful answers to the OP. No need to cry. Yes it is true - some people are mean - but maybe that is an expression of their kink. Let's not get judgey.

This is the kind of thing bullies everywhere say.

What were you going to say next? "Can't they take a joke!" perhaps?

Noooooooooooo. They'll say they are just expressing their opinion.
