You could, if you wished, instruct one of them to visit another domme in your area, once every 2 months or so (a different domme each time) and report back on what she is charging. In that way you could monitor "the going rate" and adjust your prices accordingly.
This is just an idea. Does it sound like a reasonable plan of action?

No. He only has to ring said lady and ask what her tribute is. Unless she advertises her tribute on her website. Most do, anyway.

Quite. That is *if* I was particularly interested. I could even save myself a job and get the other half to phone up or phone her myself if I was interested in rates.
However, that isn't quite what I wanted to know. I'm more interested in a) how the price level that seems to be common now was achieved, if there is a historic reason for it (some people have given their input on that already) and b) what would happen if a Domme in a certain area did put her prices up, would others follow, or if anyone knows of this happening. (again, some people have given their thoughts on the subject)
All of the latter is purely based on hypothesis and it is a largely academic question but then I tend to ponder about such things, I find thinking outside the obvious box liberating.

In regards to b)......
I have know of a Domme to put her prices up. What I mean by this is she asked for a higher tribute than her colleagues offering the same/similar service in her area, as well as not have anything to back it up, more extensive skills, more convenient location etc.
And what happened..... her business 'dried up'. Hardly surprising!! No-one (other Dommes) followed, they all just watched her to see what would happen......... and after she realized that others (potential clients) did not agree with her 'higher' estimate of herself, she dropped her rates, 'tail between her legs' (my expression) and fell in line with the standard Tribute.
In my opinion to raise your Tribute is one thing, to have to very quickly lower it again.......... nothing beats this 'reality check'. "It's not what people say, but what they DO that counts"
