Have read both articles and they are very good and say what a lot of us feel. Thank you hope you enjoyed your day. xxx "And the tigers come at night, with their voices soft as thunder " "A heart is not judged by how much it loves but by how much it is loved" Wizard of Oz to the Tinman You give little when you give of your possessions. Hi I enjoyed reading your blog and you're right. Love can't be a bad thing can it? If Valentines day only serves to remind us of this and encourage us to celebrate it even if we're alone and have no romantic partner then I'm for it. We don't have to join in with the commercial tide, we don't have to make Anne Summers or Hallmark any richer. As you say we can find our own way.
I've been known to spend the week leading up to Valentines day searching for a card that didn't have the word love on it. I know I'm not alone. What also caught my eye, and it's something I've seen refered to a fair bit from trawling around ~(well actually angling) is the reference to the possible illegality of how you may choose to celebrate love with your partners. ~Oh I hate that word- It should be lovers. Is it now illegal to spank, flog, nipple torture, fist, slap, drag around by the hair ect or is it just illegal to indulge in SM if it leaves permanent damage? I think it's the latter with the Spanner trust saying - SM is currently illegal in the UK if it results in any injury which is more than “transient or trifling”. Am I being naive in thinking that if D/s or SM or whatever we call it IS a means of expressing love, (and at it's finest it's allways been that for me) that we would really want to hurt someone to the point of leaving permanent injury? Happy Valentines day to everyone, single or otherwise, in love or all out of it. Don't lose sight of the only goal there is no matter which means you use to find it or celebrate it. Today's a good reminder. It's love.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. | |
