If I was the sort of person that uses people, I could have had chocolates for Valentines Day. But I'm not, and 'comfortable' isn't enough for me to see a lasting relationship happening.
It seems I usually spend V-Day on my own. That's not a problem really, but normally I at least buy chocolate for myself! I'm the one person I can always count on to think of these things. I normally get something for my daughter as well.
But this year, I'm housebound. Ironically because I broke my poxy ankle on the ice when going out and trying to start having a social life again. You gotta laugh...
Now if I was really clever, I would have arranged a mail order. A bit late now. So instead I'll just have a moan. What I should really be moaning about is the difference between the sort of men that bring chocolates, and the sort of men that excite my interest.
Hopefully it's mostly just an age thing, as the toyboys are invariably poor or haven't been trained right. I'm actually looking at over 40's these days, thinking in terms of a close relationship rather than just a plaything.
Perhaps Spring will bring new possibilities. You know what they say about May Day.

The tricky bit of course is deciding what we want. I think an overaged Alternative type may be a good possibility. I should know that light coloured clothing and aftershave are a bad sign. |
