This appears to be a spectacular misunderstanding. If there's a way of interpreting a statement in a way other than as intended, someone out there in cyberspace (and especially on IC) will find it and take personal offence. MissP, I know that Kinky Salon never meant to come across as discriminatory and I'm sorry that you see it that way. I'd imagine the face pic request is about security rather than any notion of prejudice based on looks. I don't attend munches very often, but I've found the u35s to be welcoming to everyone. Many of the core members are well over 35. I've always considered the idea of "young and beautiful" people as a reference to attitude rather than any restriction on physical age or appearance, and I've never read these as rules to be taken literally.
As far as I'm aware, the same applies at Kinky Salon. Comparing a fetish party invitation to Apartheid seems a bit insane. Not quite Godwin's Law, but verging on it! |
