I was watching "Meet Joe Black" for the nth time, and was struck by this quotation. As it's close to Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share it.
"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I'm not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived."
William Parrish, "Meet Joe Black".

For me Love has always been the unbridled need to put someone elses hopes, dreams, pleaure and happiness before your own. To have that returned... heaven!!! You know when love has ended because that need dwindles or disappears completely...

I have never really attempted to analyse love in such a way before but I think you really hit the nail on the head there in terms of how the extent to which I have felt this towards people has often correlated with the extent to which I feel love (or not lol) It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice |
