"Hello, may I have some details from you please?" So I pass over the relevant info, tyre size, vehicle reg, address, company I work for etc etc. And he phones me back to tell me someone will be with me in 90 minutes. (They used to ask me if I was alone and if I felt safe where I was, but I think they're no longer allowed to discriminate.)
I've heard this before, and what happens is that a bit after 90 minutes, usually round about 100 minutes, someone phones and tells me that they'll be coming to me next and they ask for the address. I tell them they should already have it and they say "Yes but I was just hoping for directions"
I know damn well they have SatNav, they've admitted to it before. I give directions, asking them where they are coming from and then giving them directions that will make it easier for them to find me.
I usually then get another phone call to let me know they are 'Ten minutes away" and then they turn up and do whatever is needed.
Today was no different. The original 90 minutes was well over 130 by the time he turned up. As I expected.
But... I'm back on the road again and can carry on with my planned day, albeit a few hours later than expected.
