Which cities? Can you name one city which didn't have christmas lights because of causing offence rather than cost?

Since when did Birmingham Council have control over Driving Licences? I thought it was the DVLA.

Which school? You are so familiar with the case surely you know where and when it was? Or perhaps you could point to a news report on the BBC, Daily Mail (The paper which supported Hitler) or Sun websites?

By saying England and using the term Briton you are being quite patronising. 15% of the population of Britain are not English, they are Welsh and Scottish and Irish.

What about welsh and gaelic speakers? Aren't they allowed to speak their native languages? What about French, Norse and Latin? All of them were the language spoken here at one point? Shall we get rid of all foreign words in English, eg Weblog and Ms?
So what percentage of British residents in Spain speak Spanish? Have you posted something on a Spanish Resident website decrying them for not fitting in culturally?
Before you post racist crap at least check where it came from. The piece you posted comes from at least 2002 and is called This Is America. Some racist dickhead has just modified it slightly to apply to Britain and gullible types have copied t thinking it is true.

Anyone who thinks that 'British' or 'English' people are a pure bred race are clearly ignorant of our history. We are a nation of mixed breeds, right from the year dot when the European farmers moved in and kicked the Hunter Gathers into touch waaaaay back when, through to the Romans, then the Vikings, the Normans who subjugated the 'natives' and imposed their own language and customs (much of which our current law/language etc is still based on) then there were the Huguenots who came from France in the 16thC and intergrated into our bloodstock... and so on and so on. Bonhanza I love you. You have a good heart and an ok brain. I'm afraid I give up and can't be bothered/ find the energy when I see this crap but it is good you respond, heartening in fact. The Mail/ Hitler link is always worth reminding people of. The proplem I have in responding is I know that kind of stuff is about people's own insecurity, lack of sense of their own identity etc etc and one posted response will be utterly pointless as far as that is concerened. i think perhaps this is being taken out of context really. i understand that MsSarah's post could be seen as inflamatory to some, but when you think about it, are we not becoming products of politically correct madness? In my mind it is not racist to say that as a nation we are being made to feel more and more as though our history and our Britishness is dangerous, something not to be celebrated incase it offends someone. Well i am sorry, but i take offense at that. i have no facts to either prove, or disprove what she says in her post, i feel it must have happened somewhere, but to completely villify her for what she wrote, is not really fair... gabrielle x
