slight diversion here,
i am new, so please forgive
it's a bit of a suprise to me that so many people have said yay to this request. with so much here being private and intimate and not generally on display in the outside world. but then again, i have treasured the few occasions i have had to really talk about the things i do, or want to do, or need to do, so much, that maybe it's not a suprise at all

I guess this gives me a chance to reassure that although the idea behind this research isn't really after those intimate details, anything anyone says will remain private, and the dissertation itself will preserve the anonymity of all participants. I'd just like to say a thank you for the overwhelming number of people who have been in touch one way or another, which far exceeded what I could have hoped for.
