It is with sadness that we are relaying an email sent this afternoon from the family of the LAM stall holder John who traded as LynxLincs that he passed away last weekend.
We will have a book of condolences open at the next LAM and have asked the family if they would like us to organise a collect for a particular cause (Macmillan Cancer care).
Although John has been in declining health for some time he never lost that zest for life and I recall a conversation along those lines when we last chatted.
I have enclosed the email from the family below as I feel it carries something of a message for everyone.
John you will be missed.
The LAM crew
Hello,
Sorry for the impersonal email, it's Nathan here, John's son.
I'm sending this email as you are in John's address book.
I'm afraid John passed away over the weekend. He'd been suffering with cancer & vascular disease for years, & had a few lengthy stays in hospital over the last few months as his diseases progressed. He had a few weeks respite care in a nursing home over Christmas, where I kept him happy with a steady supply of rum & boiled sweets, so it wasn't all downhill. He maintained his sense of humor to the end, & managed to be a complete pain in the arse to the care home staff at times, (his spirit wasn't affected by his physical problems)!
I'm afraid he didn't have any form of physical address book that I could find, so I have no idea who is a personal friend, who are business associates, & who may have just bought something from him on eBay (if so I apologise for confusing you with this email). I'm sure there will be people who's contact details I don't find, please pass on the sad news to his friends in the social circles he moved in.
The funeral will be this Friday at 2pm (sorry for the short notice) in a Green burial site in Lincolnshire.
There will be a short humanist service, & a small buffet tea in a local hotel.
If you'd like to attend the funeral please drop me an email at this email account: jmsimcox@hotmail.co.uk I check this one daily. He asked for a small funeral, but for all those that new him to raise a glass to him, please do this on Friday evening if you have a chance.
Best Wishes,
Nathan

Tis sad that he's gone, he was someone I'd gotten to know well over the last couple of years. He's someone I have great respect and admiration for in the way he carried on no matter how much pain he was in and always had a smile and a pleasant word, RIP John you will be missed by many who knew and loved you. I'm not cruel........ My kindness is just VERY misunderstood !!!

I received the email too from knowing John as a fellow trader at the London Fetish Fair. A lovely, lovely man and it made me smile and feel comforted that he kept his humour and spirit right to the end. Finally free from pain, rest in peace John Michelle
