If people would care to read the rest of the article in question it clearly states his former misdemeanours which resulted in the stupid gits downfall, the comment about the whiplash doesn't mean a thing, it doesn't 'violate' any kinky peoples rights ffs!

Correct... the only thing he has violated is a womans right to work in an environment free from sexual harrassement... now maybe if she had castaited the fucker for saying it then we could reasonably debate it on this thread.... maybe this board should be called a fucking pointles waste of time board as we only discuss shite which has sod all to do with bdsm..

I've yet to read the whole link but based on what you say OP, I am struggling to see what the man who made the comment did wrong.

I think the thing is that he had made some fairly unpleasant comments to other women, which are what he is really facing disciplinary charges (not criminal) for. As a result this woman has come forward with the remark he made some time ago as an example of the sexual way he talks to women, though by itself this remark probably wouldn't have been an issue. However it does make far and away the best headline and press release of all of them, so guess which one the story leads on? Even on a not specifically news orientated site the writers are going to be trained journalists who focus on what makes a good headline rather than the actual story.

Women in the workplace do have the right not to have to put up with overfamiliar sexual innuendo from those entrusted to be their managers. It's not nice for them to have to work "under" someone, particularly when they may find them sexually unnapealing, knowing he may harbour these kind of thoughts about them. In short it's a form of obnoxious bullying.

It's ignorant of him to voice such opinions. If he has them he should have the self-control to keep such thoughts to himself. I'm sure many of us have at some time thought a work colleague would make a good domme or sub, yet we have the sense to realise it would be inappropriate to foist our impression upon them in case they find it offensive.

Whilst perhaps acceptable to voice opinions in a bar to a stranger where the intended audience can deliver a swift rebuke, kick in the nuts or walk away (should she not like the sound of them), he should have realised that voicing them to subordinates in the workplace is unnaceptable.

I wouldn't give him his job back on the basis that he's displayed behaviour not commensurate to the position of managing female staff.

what I don't understand is why were these women in a work environment anyway?

surely they should have been at home doing the ironing and cooking food for their men folk?

next thing you know they will want paying!

That's a very true comment... all-female work-spaces, like shop floors are an incredibly intimidating place for some men, and yet the 'bullying' and innuendo and harrassement is rarely viewed in the same way.

A company I worked for simply moved one male lab technician out of an otherwise all female lab rather than deal with the fact that what he experienced was out and out sexual harrassment and a great deal of bullying. He didn't make any complaint, it was management who could see what was occurring and that it affected him, and that he would leave soon if something wasn't done. Good grief, any of those women would have made brutal dommes, I cringe to think!

Yip, and would probably have been quick enough to make a complaint had the shoe been on the other foot.

I get it all the time, not from managers but one of my jobs involves promoting nightclub events so dealing with tipsy, overfamiliar women and getting my bum groped aren't unusual.

It was only ever a problem if my ex GF happened to be watching. Personally I'm happy to deal with it and love the banter.

Not that I ever take advantage of it, I mean could you imagine telling someone that actually the quickie shag they envisaged wasn't going to happen but if they'd like to come and play with whips and chains.. No, precisely..
