The biggest problem with this case would seem to be that the bad and nasty man what suggested she looked like she could be a tad Domme had been less than genlemanly to other women in the past, therefore branding him a twat. That said, we live in dark times people. Freedom of speech is paid for by freedom of objection as it should be, but do we really need the protection of law? To many people have been prosecuted for a turn of phrase or a misguided quip. Sure, we should all try not to be twats, but should we be so sorely punished when we are? (I realise that the sorely punished line is a little provocative in the context of a BDSM site and I apologise) I just stepped outside. It took some time. | ||

It would appear the gentleman in question is sometimes a little too free with what some perceive as offensive comments. Unfortunately he is now paying for the right to freedom of speech...and others right to bitch about it. What i find most objectionable is the fact the "lady" in question waited several years before complaining. Why? Did she think she might get something out of it? I was once called a "bolshy little bitch" by a boss..infront of other staff. I laughed in his face and told him he was a C***. He was more embarrased than me and got a rollocking for talking down to junior staff. Perhaps it would have been better if she had spoken up at the time as it rather looks now as if she's just jumping on the bandwagon...for whatever reason. What some perceive as offensive is key here. An individual might choose to view anything as offensive and thereby open you up to all sorts of seriously ungroovy repercussions. I myself might find cheese offensive and then sue Wallace & Gromit for their digusting pimping of Wenslydale. And they call it family entertainment. I just stepped outside. It took some time. | ||

Oh, god, it's in social services. There's a surprise. I can't stand this culture of females being perceived as so weak and pathetic they have to run tittle-tattling if some big bad nasty man makes a joke at their expense. FFS. I'm biased, I was only female on a university engineering course, and went into heavy industry in South Yorkshire. If I'd complained every time some bloke made a salacious or insulting crack at me, there wouldn't have been much time to do my job. And there were times that were hard, and certain people who genuinely intimidated me. I toughened up and dealt with it. I love the way one woman complained about this bloke and then several other worms crawled out from under their rocks with pathetic tales of woe, which from the report seem to amount to 'one liners'. It doesn't come across as systematic persecution of any particular person, which I would wholeheartedly agree is a problem. Way to ruin someone's career. And probably screw up other parts of his life too. | ||

I've yet to read the whole link but based on what you say OP, I am struggling to see what the man who made the comment did wrong. Some men come out with all sorts of crap. I'd be far more worried if he made a comment about wanting to fuck her or spank her (in this context). Now that would have been a bit too much imho but to say she's domly? Yeah i hate it too.... i would love for some dirty old bastard to tell me he bet i loved taking it up the arse while at was at work... personally i would have knocked his fecking lights out. The whiplash comment wasnt complained about at the time... in line with the other shite he has been saying it needed to be brought out as he obvioulsy thinks nothing of sexually insulting females. He most certainly doesn't deserve to lose his job at all! He deserves his f**king knackers to be put through a mangel...then sacked the silly c**t! Firstly for playing dangerous games especially in the current climate of political correctness and secondly because he does such a high profile job and thinks he can get the fuck away with it! People in lesser status jobs get the tic tac for far less than that If people would care to read the rest of the article in question it clearly states his former misdemeanours which resulted in the stupid gits downfall, the comment about the whiplash doesn't mean a thing, it doesn't 'violate' any kinky peoples rights ffs!
