My playroom is, or at least, it aspires to be, a far cry those crammed, red and black/purple and black dungeons decorated with too much fake oak and chains. And fake flames. and laughing skulls. I like to be kinky in stylish, contemporary surroundings. I refuse to use the word dungeon, it's not my scene and I don't like them, nor use them.
I specially dislike those "fully equipped" dungeons, where everything and the cat's milk bowl is on display in case you didn't trust us: paddles, whips, canes, masks, chains, laughing skulls, candles, rubber costumes, clothes pegs, cuffs... all hanging on hooks from every wall; furniture fighting for some space, like a bloody jumble sale. No sense of atmosphere, no sense of decor, no sense of order. Those places make me want to start reorganizing and tidying up. And tidying up is not what makes me feel sexy. Who came up with this cluttered stereotype, and why? I just don't get it.
Thankfully, modern designers are aware of this need for a more XXIst Century look on play spaces that the more contemporary perverts dream of.
Take Eames, Le Corbusier... even Ikea. All of them, devoted to design modern classics that are so perfectly pervertable, you know these gentlemen were kinky. They must have.
Take, for example, the famous Le Corbusier Chaise Lounge
You'd be pressed to find a more perfect bondage bench, ideal for restriction, cbt and facesitting. Ask me, I've got one. All steel and leather. Mssr Lecorbusier, you were definitely a very naughty boy!
I've also just become the proud owner of the legendary Ikea spanking horse, aka Spanstig (their name, not mine). You've heard about them, pondered about its design and finality. You marvelled at its uncanny, kinky design and potential
Spanstig is one of the best pieces of kit I've had in years: it's perfect in design, it's sturdy, and it's got plenty of room for storage. Ideal for spanking and rogering gentlemen. What the hell was the Norse Goddess of flat packing thinking about when she designed this for the kids' room? It looks perfect in my studio and also matches Mssr Lecorbusier's contraption perfectly.
For hanging my kit, I use the Eames hangitall hook (also available in black). Yes, I'm a sucker for XXth Century design classics, but they tend to be strangely pervertable.
I don't have a "throne", like other ladies seem to favour. Being not too keen on traditional hierarchies and specially not into aristos or, on using the monarchy to justify my wish to be dominant and fickle, I needed something more suitable for the modern, urbanite dominant lady. And once again, Mssr Le Corbusier came to the rescue, with his classic LC3 sofa. Very comfy for prolonged worship, all that steel and black leather to recline on.
I mean, Fetters is all very well, and if you like medieval castles or an industrial settings, that's fine. I like visiting them, but it's not what makes me go all wet and kinky. Not my look. In an ideal world, my studio would be not unlike the Space Hilton Hotel lobby in 2001, A Space Odissey. Specially if it came with zero gravity option too

It's taken longer to come up with something that my inner perve can identify with, but I'm getting there. My world of kink is finally becoming what I always wanted to look and feel like. A perfect symbiosis of form, function and style.

Yaay furniture porn ... I have been indulging my furniture fetish in Brighton however the playroom is functional and trying to keep it decluttered is the bane of my life (which I haven't yet solved). We've found that a sturdy ottoman makes for an excellent play bench (the Ikea spanstig looks to be out of stock so may need a pervertible wander around Ikea for inspiration). | |

Yes, that's the whole point for me. If a space doesn't make me feel sexy, it won't work. So I had to build my own studio and choose stuff that triggered my erotic imagination and longings...

I like diversity, those amongst us who don't feel incinded to do as others would do in quite the same way, not there is anything wrong with doing the same as yer mates just good to have a choice.
